The book group has been in continual existence since September 2003. Our books for discussion are provided by GLL (Greenwich Leisure Ltd) who have taken over the running of the Library Service from Lincolnshire County Council. The group pays a subscription of £45 a year to GLL due each August, (at the moment this works out at under £3 per person per year).

The Library Service have a list of approximately 200 titles, with new titles added twice a year and others deleted. The Library Support Team send us multiple copies of one title each month. We do not generally know what title to expect, but over the past year we have read a varied selection. We have a month to read the book and then get together for a lively discussion on the second Wednesday of each month at 2pm at Skegness Library. New members welcome, please contact the Group Organiser.
Comments from our Group Members
“J K Rowling said "If you don't like to read, you have not
found the right book". In our book group you are sure to
find the right book.”
“Joining a Book reading group was a first for me and this
Book Lovers Group made it so so easy to fit in as a very
new member. The atmosphere is relaxed and convivial.
“The three books that I've experienced so far : The Essex
Serpent, Mortmain Hall & Mala's Cat are three books that I
would not normally have chosen to read. All have been
enjoyable; as have been the different opinions & insights
from each of the members when we get together.”
“Everyone was so friendly and welcoming when I joined. I
value the companionship of other people who enjoy
reading books as much as I do.”
“Having been encouraged to read a variety of books I have
learned not to judge a book by its cover!”
“I have been a book group member for many years and
have read a lot of books that I would never have even
looked at.”
“You don't have to be an avid reader, just someone who
likes to read a bit.”
“The discussion meetings are fun. We usually have a good
laugh.
“I've belonged to a few book clubs over the years but this
one is definitely the best. Good company, a wide selection
of books and some great discussions.”
