The Group started in 2009, mainly as a Beginners’ Group, with two of us with ‘O’ Level plus. Over the years a number of other people joined with a reasonable grounding in German and the group continued as a mixed ability group. All the beginners have since dropped out and we are now a small, but fairly homogeneous, group.

We watch a video in German with German sub-titles for about twenty minutes. Recently we have discovered Easy German on YouTube, which caters for students at our level. After that, each member of the group prepares a short item for discussion. If there is time, we then read a passage from a newspaper or a book or articles downloaded from the internet.

We meet every Thursday mornings from 10.00am to 11:00am at Jim's house, except when Jim is away.

New members with some knowledge of German will be very welcome.
